Howard Bass

Passed away aged 85, on 13th October, 2007

Phil Drackett

1922-2005

One of our founder and honorary members, passed away aged 83, on 20th November, 2005.

Phil was truly the doyen of British ice hockey journalists. He first wrote about the sport in the 1950s for the weekly newspaper, Ice Hockey World, and edited that publication's yearbook. He went on to publish several books about the game, including one on Britain's Triple Crown triumph of 1936.

An ice hockey netminder in his younger days, he regularly contributed obituaries of former players - many of whom were personal friends - to The Ice Hockey Annual and Ice Hockey News Review.
